Pisa & Florence, Italy
May 23, 2005 Monday we are at Livorno

We went to Pisa first. It was a beautiful drive through the countryside of western Tuscany to Pisa.  The leaning Tower of Pisa is on the outskirts of the town just inside the city wall. We had to park outsisde and had a good walk to get to the Piazza dei Miracoli with the Leaning Tower, the Cathedral and Baptistry. Across the street is a row of street stalls selling souvenirs and leather bags. We saw the Cathedral, Baptistry, and Tower from the outside. We couldn't get inside without a ticket and we felt we had seen enough.

We doive to Florence for a full day walking tour to Brunelleschi's masterpiece cathedral in pink, green and white marble, and its adjacent Bell Tower and Baptistry. We saw the copy of Michelangelo's David in the Piazza della Signoria and dined at a local Florentine restaurant. The food was wonderful! The staff and patrons enjoyed T'Karri. Then we went to the Church of Santa Croce. After touring the Church we had some fee time to shop. T'Karri and I did some street magic. There was a large group of Indian tourists that loved us, plus a number of others in the Plaza. Several street vendors came up to us including two French artists. We bought a mask from one. We had great fun.
