Some friends and I went to Conner Prairie, an 1836 Indiana town where everyone is in costume and plays the part as if it is really 1836. Here I am in the school house. Kids, how would you like to go to school here? They only went to school for three months in the winter. Parents paid 3 cents a day per child. That was more then than it sounds like today. The rest of the year there was chores, working on the farm, planting, weeding, picking so it wasn't all vacation, it was hard work. |

I love little kids and this little guy at a family reunion in Tennessee where Bob and I were booked was adorable. We had a great time. |
