Housekeeping
On the Norwegian Wind there are 874 passenger rooms. Add to that all the uniforms, tablecloths, and linens and you have a lot of work to keep everything clean and neat. That the the awesome job of the housekeeping staff. I sat down with Hal Brooms, the Chief Housekeeper of the Norwegian Wind.

Drango: "Tell me about
yourself Hal." Hal: "I am from Barbados. My whole
family was in housekeeping so it was natural for me. After finishing school I wanted to go
to sea. I started as a Utilityman, then became an Officer's Steward, then Room Steward,
then a supervisor. I went to classes and eventually was promoted to my present job. The
line likes to promote capable people from within the company. Come with me. I'll show you
what's below. |

Maria: "I get up very early to get the supplies loaded and organized on my cart. Then I take care of the cabins. It is an all day job. I watch and if I see the passengers have used their cabin, I straighten it up when they leave. I want the cabins to be as nice as possible. Then at night I turn down the covers and put mints on the pillows." Drango: "You do a good job Maria.

someone get a job in your department?" Hal: "They would put in an application to the corporate offices or to agents we have in a number of countries. Then wait to be called. Then they would send a resume'. They may then be called for an interview." |

| Drango: "Thank you
very much Hal. This has been very interesting." Hal: "Its good to have you on board Drango." |
