Oahu, Hawaii

In Hawaiian Oahu means gathering place. Oahu is the main island that most people come to first. Honolulu is the main city. It is also the capital of the State of Hawaii. It is not the largest of the Islands. In the past the major income for the island came from pineapples and sugar cane. Today there is little of this raised on the island. The major income for Oahu comes from tourism and government installations. All branches of the military have large installations on the island. Waikiki Breach in Honolulu is a big tourist center.

When we arrived in Hawaii we were met by our Vantage Tour Directors who would be with us for the trip. They were great!
